A visit to Devonshire Mill
Skipsea Gardening Club members enjoyed perfect weather for the first road trip of the 2024 season on the 7th February.

We made our way to the Devonshire Mill in Pocklington, the mill dates back to the 1700's and has a fantastic display of snowdrops, set in two acres surrounding the mill.

Our hosts, Chris and Sue have lived in the former flour mill for thirty years, they guided us around the grounds, not only explaining about the many varieties of snowdrop, they also gave us an insight into the historic significance of Pocklington, right back to the Iron age.

The day came to a conclusion in the mill kitchen with splendid scones and cakes that Sue had specially baked for the visit.
